 Calculation of the Fertiliser blend for optimum results using the computer programme Optiblend.

The help of a computer program can give you the indispensable support to your customer. The information that you supply to your clients is made more reliable and you can support the advice to your client very well, encouraging mutual trust between you and your customer. Because of the optimisation of your blending, you can give very concrete advice to your client, which can be very favourable in price for both the dealer and the farmer. For example, it sometimes can be USCurrently there are no items available, please come back later. .5 to US$ 4.0 lower per 100 KGs. compared with compound fertlizers.

Blending and optimisation are closely connected to each other. If you want to use your blender and give good advice to your customer it’s a must to optimise.

The criteria of the Optiblend  programme are:
A A simple and easy operation (a user-friendly operation).
B A clear print out of information for both the fertiliser dealer and farmer.
C Sufficient basic information in the computer.
D Software has to work on every computer.
E Software has to work fast.
F Analyses have to fulfil the government regulations.
G Program has to optimise. This is really necessary because  there is a big variation of fertiliser available.
H The manure (fertiliser) gift has to be calculated into the computer.
I Soil sample analyses have to be a basis in the program.
J There must be a possibility to connect the program on the dose-system of the blending installation.

The next pages will give you an impression of the possibilities with this program.

Vegetation file.

The vegetation file, by putting into the computer all the crops, which are used in your area can save you a lot of time and searching.

Withdrawal of the vegetation.

All crops have their own need for N, P or K or micronutritients to grow. You can subdivide this into tons of output. In Germany the needs of the crops have been coupled to the basic fertiliser by individual crop.

Basic fertiliser with prices.

You can give every fertiliser product up to a maximum of 5 prices. For example the purchasing price and the selling price.

Recipe 16,4 – 16,4 – 16,4

It’s possible to store several recipes into the memory. You can indicate which nutrient needs your demand or which basic fertiliser you want to optimise.

Customer file.

It comes in handy when a computer program has the possibility to use your customer file. So it won’t be necessary to enter every time the customers name and address.

Organic manure.

It’s very important that the program offers the possibility to work with organic fertiliser. So that you can also take into consideration the value of the nutrient valve of the manure.

Spread advice scheme

A spread advice scheme is a handy help to process spread data over a long time. With this program it’s possible to make a spread plan for a maximum of 4 years ahead. This is very handy if, for example a repair manuring is necessary for the composition of the field. It’s also possible to apply micronutrients over several years; it’s no longer necessary to apply micronutrient only once every 4 years. (This gives a better utilisation and spreading). By approaching it this way in a schedule, it’s easy for the farmer to read. This screen covers 4 years, but it’s also possible to talk about 4 applications in a year. This happens a lot with stock farms.

Often used is the possibility to calculate an average blend. It’s possible to put in a maximum of 12 lots together into the computer. The computer calculates the average needed for these lots. In this way it’s possible to approach the individual needs of each lot as close as possible.

If all the data is in the computer, the optimisation can begin. Optimisation is a must, to get the right proportions on paper. The nutrient values of the basic fertilisers in relation to their prices are calculated to an optimal blending. It’s very difficult to make this calculation by hand especially if there are also micronutrients included such as borium, copper, etc. The result of the optimisation is a very accurate composition. A restriction has to be made in the calculation, which indicates the basic fertilisers, which can not be blended together because of the chemical composition, powder or granular products, etc.

Composition and prices

The composition can be printed out on paper and gives the following types of information:
? Name of the customer;
? How many ha;
? Price of the blending;
? Name of the parcel;
? Fertiliser sort and how many kg.;
? The analysis of the blending;
? Period of spreading;

Together with the composition and prices, the blending order can also be printed out. The print shows the blending order, the types of fertiliser and how many kg. is needed for the blending.

The covering letter

The covering letter shows the guaranteed analysis that the customer receives when he picks up the blending product. The analysis can be good and precise, because it’s the warranty that the fertiliser dealer gives to his customer. That’s why the analysis shows also very clearly how many KGs. fertilizer the farmer has to spread on his field and what the total nutrient value is per ha. as well as per 100 KGs.

There are many different possibilities and applications to post calculate. You can enter the different kinds of fertiliser with the related KGs. required to be spread and the computer calculates an analise and blending. It’s a must to calculate an ideal relation (optimisation). The computer calculates the cheapest possibility for 100 KGs. compound fertilizer.

Of course it’s possible to calculate a standard compound fertiliser, for example a blending compatible with 17-17-17.
